Why should a Christian defend their faith?

As Christians, we are called to defend our faith and lovingly engage with those who hold different beliefs, not out of pride or argument, but because the truth of the Gospel has eternal significance. Scripture instructs us to study, be ready to give a reason for our hope, and to contend earnestly for the faith, always with gentleness and respect. Just as a watchman warns of danger, we have a responsibility to warn others of false teachings and spiritual peril, motivated by love and concern for their souls. Our goal is not to win arguments, but to share the truth and hope found in Christ, remembering that our neighbors are not the enemy—the real danger is the deception that keeps them from the truth.
